In vitro and In vivo Monoclonal Antibody Production

MBS offers both in vivo and in vitro antibody production of monoclonal antibodies in our cGMP facility.  Antibody productions through mouse ascites provides customers with a cost-effective option for large scale antibody productions. In vitro production methods are available when smaller quantities of antibody are needed or a preparation free of endogenous mouse antibodies is required and the option to produce in serum free media is preferred.  Production schedules are customizable and projects can typically be started within two weeks of booking.

In vivo Monoclonal Antibody Production via Mouse Ascites (6-8 Weeks)

  • All incoming cell lines require mycoplasma testing. Mycoplasma decontamination services are available for contaminated cell lines.

  • BALB/c, BALB/c hybrid, Nude and SCID mice are available; additional strains available upon request

  • Average yield from BALB/c mice is 3-5mLs of ascites per mouse with an average antibody concentration of
    3-5mg/mL

  • Ascites assayed for total protein content and estimated IgG concentration

In vitro Monoclonal Antibody Productions via Roller Bottle (3-4 weeks)

  • All incoming cell lines require MBS mycoplasma testing. Discuss mycoplasma decontamination services for lines that may be contaminated.

  • Cultures are grown in custom media and harvested for optimal antibody yield

  • Production volumes ranging from 1L to 100L

  • cGMP production report is provided

MBS also offers custom cell culture production of other mammalian cell lines (CHO, HEK 293) in addition to our standard hybridoma service offerings. Nunc cell factory productions are also available.  Contact our Sales staff to discuss specific production requirements.
